Is Econorm a probiotic?

Is Econorm a probiotic? My doctor gave it for loose motion, but I’m not sure what kind of medicine it is or how it helps with diarrhea.

    Dear Reader,

Yes, Econorm is a type of probiotic. It contains Saccharomyces boulardii, a helpful yeast that supports your gut. Your physician likely gave it for diarrhea because probiotics like this help restore the natural balance of good microbes in the intestine. When this balance is disrupted by infection, dietary changes, or medications, diarrhea can occur, and probiotics often help settle it.

Econorm doesn’t stop diarrhea immediately, but it can shorten episodes and help your stomach recover faster. It’s generally considered gentle, which is why doctors often recommend it during stomach upsets.

If your symptoms aren’t improving, if you notice worsening dehydration, or if the diarrhea lasts more than a couple of days, please contact your doctor. They can check if something else is going on or if you need a different treatment.

    Wishing you good health.
