Is Combiflam banned in India?

Is Combiflam banned in India? I heard someone saying it’s not safe anymore, but I still see it in medical stores. Just want to know if it’s true or just a rumor.

    Dear Reader,

You may have heard rumors that Combiflam is banned in India, but that’s not true.

The confusion about Combiflam’s safety stems from past batch-specific recalls, not an outright ban. In 2016, some batches failed a disintegration test, which means the tablets took longer to dissolve. The manufacturer, Sanofi India, recalled those batches as a precaution. More recently, in 2024, a few batches of Combiflam Suspension (the liquid form) were voluntarily recalled due to potential contamination; the tablet form remains approved. These issues were temporary and limited.

Currently, Combiflam tablets are approved by the Indian drug authorities and are widely available. When using this medicine, always follow the recommended dosage, check the expiry date, and buy only from trusted sources to ensure product authenticity and safety.

    Wishing you good health.
