How to use Duolin and Budecort together​?

• Duolin is classified as a Bronchodilator. Its primary purpose is to act as a “reliever” medicine. The action is to quickly open and relax the muscles lining the tight airways, making breathing easier almost immediately.
• Budecort is classified as a Corticosteroid. Its primary purpose is to act as a “preventer” medicine. The action is to reduce the underlying inflammation and swelling inside the airways over time. This helps to control chronic symptoms and prevent future flare-ups.

Correct Usage Protocol

While both medicines can sometimes be safely mixed, the method most frequently recommended by healthcare professionals for optimal results is the sequential approach:

1. Start with Duolin: Use the Duolin Respule in your nebuliser first. This acts as a “reliever” to widen the constricted air passages.
2. Wait Briefly: Allow for a short pause, typically 5 to 15 minutes, as recommended by your doctor.
3. Follow with Budecort: Administer the Budecort Respule next. Since the airways are now open, the anti-inflammatory Budecort can reach deeper into the lungs, reducing swelling and controlling symptoms.

Safety Note-

After using Budecort, it is essential to gargle and rinse your mouth thoroughly with water, then spit it out to prevent a fungal infection (oral thrush).
