Sebaceous glands produce oil in the skin and scalp. These glands are primarily present in areas with hair, and they continuously release oil.
Some people have a natural tendency for increased oil production. In such cases, the scalp or skin over the face and back may feel oily all the time.
Oil provides a breeding ground for fungal growth and can result in problems such as dandruff.
A good anti-dandruff shampoo may be recommended as a treatment. The use of hair oils should be avoided. Products containing ketoconazole, ciclopirox olamine, selenium sulfide, or zinc pyrithione are recommended. If the scalp remains oily, it is recommended to wash the hair daily.
Pimples can be seen over the forehead because of dandruff. It irritates the skin. Increased oil production over the face can also be a reason.
Taking the correct treatment for dandruff will help reduce the pimples as well. You may also require additional creams for pimples.
