an lungs such as the abdomen, kidney, skeletal muscles, spine, and brain). Rimstar Tablet belongs to a class of medicines called antibacterials (medicines that kill bacteria). You should take the Rimstar Tablet as prescribed by your doctor. The duration and dose of taking Rimstar Tablet vary depending on the patient’s condition and age. It is important to complete the prescribed course of this medicine to prevent reinfection and the development of medicine resistance in the TB bacteria. The side effects of Rimstar Tablets include upset stomach, diarrhoea, fever, and rash.   • Treatment of extra-pulmonary tuberculosis (tuberculosis may also affect organs other than lungs such as stomach (abdomen), skeletal muscles, spine, lymph glands, kidney, and brain)

A: Rimstar Tablets are not meant to be given to children under 3 years of age. You should not give this medicine to children without medical consultation.

Q: I have been taking Rimstar Tablets for a week now but do not see much improvement in my condition. Should I stop taking it?

A: No, you should not stop taking Rimstar Tablets suddenly without consulting your doctor as it may cause symptoms of withdrawal like headache, sleeping problems, irritation, nervousness, and uncontrollable dreams. If you stop taking Rimstar Tablets before the dose duration is over, the TB bacteria may develop resistance to this medicine (the medicine will become ineffective when taken in future). Hence, you should consult your doctor before stopping this medicine.

Q: What other precautions should I take while taking Rimstar Tablets?

A: Rimstar Tablet contains a sugar called lactose. If you are intolerant to lactose or your doctor has asked you to not consume certain sugars, consult your doctor before taking this medicine.
