Medical Description

Papcef Tablet is used for the treatment of bacterial infections such as pneumonia, bronchitis and other infections of the skin, nose, throat, urinary tract, etc. It is an antibiotic medicine containing cefpodoxime as its active ingredient. It works by killing the bacteria, improving your condition and curing the infection. Papcef Tablet should be taken as directed by the doctor and in the correct doses and for the exact duration as prescribed. It should be taken with food to avoid stomach discomfort. Nausea, vomiting, headache and stomach pain are some of the common side effects of Papcef Tablet. Most of which are temporary. However, if you feel the side effects persist or your condition worsens, contact your doctor immediately. Before using Papcef Tablet, inform the doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding and about your detailed medical history.

  • If you are allergic to Cefpodoxime or any other ingredients of Papcef Tablet.
  • If you have a history of a severe allergic reaction to Penicillin or other Beta-Lactam antibiotics.

Other General Warnings

Talk to your doctor if

  • You develop watery and bloody diarrhoea.
  • You have had an allergy to medicines called Cephalosporins or Penicillins.
  • You are using any Beta-lactam antibacterial medicines.

How Does It Work?

Cefpodoxime in Papcef Tablet works by controlling the growth of bacteria and killing them by inhibiting the synthesis of the bacterial cell wall.

Directions for Use of Papcef 200mg Tab 10'S

Papcef Tablet should be taken as directed by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole with a glass of water, after your meal to avoid stomach discomforts. Do not cut, break or chew the medicine. It would be best if you took it at a fixed time for optimal results. You should not consume it more than that prescribed by your doctor.

  • If you experience any of the symptoms or think you have taken too much of Papcef Tablet, contact your doctor immediately or visit the nearest hospital.

Missed a Dose

If you have missed taking any dose of Papcef Tablet, take it as soon as you remember. If it is time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and follow the regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose of this medicine to compensate for the missed dose.
