Neotrexate 5mg Tablet should not be used during pregnancy as its active component, methotrexate, has shown to cause congenital abnormalities, foetal death, or even miscarriages. Therefore, methotrexate is contraindicated during pregnancy.

Breast Feeding

Can I use Neotrexate 5mg Tablet during breastfeeding?

Methotrexate passes into breast milk in small amounts and may cause toxicity in infants. Therefore, treatment is contraindicated during breastfeeding, or breastfeeding should be temporarily stopped.

Driving

Can I drive if I have taken Neotrexate 5mg Tablet?

Methotrexate can cause fatigue, blurred vision, and dizziness, affecting your driving ability. Do not drive if any of these symptoms are seen.

Alcohol

Concurrent treatment with live vaccine and methotrexate may lead to severe antigenic reactions
Concomitant use of general anaesthesia may increase the antifolate effect of methotrexate
Concomitant use of antipsychotics increases the risk of agranulocytosis
The risk of hepatotoxicity increases with the simultaneous use of retinoids
Co-administration with NSAIDs may increase and prolong serum methotrexate concentrations
Concomitant use of sulfamethoxazole and folate antagonists increases the risk of haematological toxicity
Concomitant use of loop diuretics reduces the excretion of methotrexate, thereby increasing the risk of toxicity
Neomycin, when co-administered with methotrexate, reduces the absorption of methotrexate
