Kidylinctus Syrup is an oral suspension primarily used in the treatment of allergic or dry cough and common cold in children. It contains promethazine, pholcodine, and phenylephrine as its active ing
redients. Kidylinctus Syp should be taken in measured doses prescribed by the doctor depending on the age, weight and health condition of the patient. It may cause side effects like drowsiness, constipation, increased heart rate and sleepiness. Self-medication can be hazardous and should be avoided. Kidylinctus Syrup is not recommended for children below 6 years. Parents or caregivers should not use Kidylinctus Syp for inducing sleep in children as it can cause harmful effects like difficulty in breathing, low blood pressure, and even loss of consciousness.

Directions for Use of Kidylinctus Syrup 50ml
- Kidylinctus Syp is an oral suspension.
- For optimal pharmacological effects, the recommended dosage of Kidylinctus Syp should be taken at the same time every day for the prescribed duration.
- Kidylinctus Syp can be taken with or without food.
- Kidylinctus Syp carries the risk of habit-formation over prolonged use, therefore doses should be monitored.
Interactions of Kidylinctus Syrup 50ml
Interactions with other medicines
- To avoid side effects associated with medicine interaction, it is important to inform the doctor about all medicines and health supplements you are currently taking.
- Kidylinctus Syp should be given with caution/ not given along with the following medications. Doses of Kidylinctus Syp have to be adjusted in cases of increase or decrease of efficacy.
- Haloperidol, clozapine, chlorpromazine (antipsychotic for schizophrenia, Tourette’s syndrome) - can cause increased muscle stiffness and difficulty in talking due to combined severe anti-dopamine effect....
- Cisapride (medication used in the treatment of heartburn) - decreases efficacy.
- Metoclopramide (medicine used in the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux, nausea) - causes increased convulsions and uncontrolled muscle spasms.
- Quinidine (medication to regulate heartbeat) - blurry vision, tremor, confused thoughts.
- Doxepin (antianxiety) - increases the effect of Kidylinctus Syp, and thus is harmful.
- Amitriptyline, amoxapine, citalopram (antidepressants) - increase the risk of irregular heartbeat, which can be fatal.
Interactions with food items
- Kidylinctus Syp does not show any adverse effects with any food. A regular diet can be followed unless advised otherwise by the physician.
- No major studies have been done on the use of alcohol while on Kidylinctus Syp, but it carries the risk of increased side effects like sleepiness, dizziness, and confusion.
