Medical Description

Augmentin 625 Duo tablet is an antibiotic medicine. It is used for the treatment of a wide range of infections caused by bacteria. Infections of the lungs, airways, ears, urinary tract, skin, bone, joints, soft tissue and tooth/dental infections are treated using this medicine. It contains a combination of amoxicillin and clavulanic acid as its active ingredients.

Augmentin 625 Duo tablet works by the combined action of its two components. Amoxicillin kills the bacteria which are responsible for infections. Clavulanic acid helps in maintaining an optimal level of amoxicillin by inactivating the enzymes which break the amoxicillin. Some other tablets containing amoxicillin and clavulanic acid are Amoxyclav 625mg, Moxikind Cv 625mg, Clavam 625 tablet and Moxclav 625mg.

You should take Augmentin 625 Duo tablets as advised by your doctor for the prescribed duration. It is advised to take this tablet with meals to avoid stomach upset. You should always complete the course of treatment with this medicine. Do not miss any dose or stop taking Augmentin 625 Duo tablets on your own. Incomplete treatment may result in treatment failure and increase the risk of re-infection.

This medicine should not be used during pregnancy, especially in the first trimester. Please inform your doctor if you are allergic to any antibiotic medication and if you are on any medication or have an existing medical condition.
