AMH is a substance which is produced by granulosa cells in ovarian follicles. Its production is generally higher in preantral and small antral stages of development. But as the follicles grow, the production slowly decreases and then stops. Therefore, the levels are fairly constant and the AMH test can be done on any day of a woman’s cycle. It also plays different roles in males and females. The normal levels of AMH may vary too, depending on the age and sex.
