It starts in the gland-forming cells that produce mucus and other digestive fluids in the stomach lining.\u00a0Stomach adenocarcinoma can be further divided into two main forms:\u00a0\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Intestinal\u00a0type:<\/strong>\u00a0The cancer cells look more\u00a0similar to\u00a0normal stomach cells and often grow in gland-like or tube-like patterns.\u00a0This type\u00a0may\u00a0have\u00a0a\u00a0slightly\u00a0better\u00a0prognosis.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Diffuse type:<\/strong>\u00a0The cancer cells look more unusual and do not form clear patterns. This type is less common, more aggressive,\u00a0and may be\u00a0difficult\u00a0to treat.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Gastrointestinal stromal tumour (GIST):<\/strong>\u00a0GIST develops\u00a0in\u00a0certain\u00a0cells in the\u00a0stomach\u00a0wall\u00a0called interstitial cells\u00a0of Cajal.\u00a0GISTs\u00a0can occur anywhere along the digestive system but mostly\u00a0begin\u00a0in the stomach.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Neuroendocrine\u00a0Tumours\u00a0(NETs):\u00a0<\/strong>These cancers develop from special cells in the stomach that have features of both nerve cells and hormone-producing cells. Many NETs grow slowly and may remain limited to the stomach, while some can grow faster and spread to other parts of the body.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Lymphoma:<\/strong>\u00a0This type of cancer begins in\u00a0the\u00a0lymphocytes, which are white blood cells that help the body fight infections.
