Most cases begin in germ cells, which are the cells that make sperm<sup><a href=\"https:\/\/medlineplus.gov\/ency\/article\/001288.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">2<\/a><\/sup>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rates of testicular cancer have increased in recent decades. The condition is important because both the disease and its treatment can affect a person\u2019s long-term health, fertility, and quality of life. They may spread to nearby\u00a0lymph nodes.
