The potential remedies of ginseng are recorded in the ancient medical material \u201cThe Herbal Classic of the Divine Plowman\u201d by Ben Cao Jing, around 2000 years ago. It belongs to the genus <em>Panax<\/em> and family <em>Araliaceae<\/em>. The scientific name of ginseng is <em>Panax ginseng<\/em> Meyer and is also known as the \u201cKing of Herbs\u201d<sup><a href=\"https:\/\/www.worldscientific.com\/doi\/abs\/10.1142\/S0192415X05003004\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">1<\/a>,<\/sup><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencedirect.com\/science\/article\/pii\/S1226845317303457\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><sup>2<\/sup><\/a>. Ginseng is a perennial herb (lasts for several years)<sup><a href=\"https:\/\/link.springer.com\/article\/10.2165\/00002018-200225050-00003\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">3<\/a><\/sup>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The roots of ginseng are more sought after for use than the other parts due to their nutritional and medicinal properties. The ginseng roots look similar to human shape and called as \u201cMan root\u201d.
