It is known as Country mallow in English, Kanghi in Hindi, and Atibala in Sanskrit. It\u2019s a perennial shrub that grows up to 3 meters tall<sup><a href=\"https:\/\/ijrpc.com\/files\/24-331.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">1<\/a><\/sup>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The plant can be found in India, Sri Lanka, America\u2019s tropical regions, and Malesia. It grows as a weed in sub-Himalayan areas, up to 1200 meters in elevation, and in hotter portions of India<sup><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ijrpc.com\">1<\/a><\/sup>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Nutritional_Benefits_of_Atibala\"><\/span><strong>Nutritional Benefits of Atibala<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Abutilon Indicum (Linn) also known as atibala is a medicinal plant used in our Traditional System of Medicine to address various health problems<sup><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ijrpc.com\">1<\/a><\/sup>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Whole plant: Mucilaginous compounds, asparagines, saponins, flavonoids, and alkaloids are found throughout the plant.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Atibala contains various essential oils like \u00ce\u00b1-pinene, caryophyllene, caryophyllene oxide, endesmol, farnesol, borenol, geraniol, geranyl acetate, elemene, and \u00ce\u00b1-cineole<sup><a href=\"https:\/\/globalresearchonline.net\/journalcontents\/v20-1\/20.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">2<\/a><\/sup>. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Uses_of_Atibala\"><\/span><strong>Uses of Atibala<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Atibala acts as a demulcent, aphrodisiac, laxative, diuretic, and sedative.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It has been used to treat inflammation, piles, gonorrhoea, and boost immunity.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Aphrodisiac, anti-diabetic, antipyretic, anthelmintic, nerve tonic, and diuretic are properties of the root and bark. It may be useful in treating haematuria and leprosy.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Seeds: Urinary problems may be treated using seeds. The seeds are also used as a laxative in piles and as a remedy for cough. The smoke of its seeds on charcoal is used to treat threadworms in children\u2019s rectum.
