PharmEasy Dharavi File : Helping You In Need

How do you keep yourself motivated when each hour of your day is all about getting that next meal on the table, with age not on your happy side anymore and life to survive and find some lost joy? Here is the story from PharmEasy Dharavi File of MPK Babu and how PharmEasy is making smiles happen, and gathering many positive vibes and stories to share and inspire.

MPK Babu’s story talks about how the incorrect diagnosis and lack of foresight can rip you off all your savings. With nowhere to go, Babu Sir lost all his money and was left with no clear direction of what he was suffering from. He got embroiled into the vicious cycle of routine visits to the neighbourhood hospital where he spent all his much hard-earned money through laborious toil in the hope to figure out the disease he was suffering from.

As soon as PharmEasy learned of his condition, we recommended him to a partner clinic for a diagnosis and helped ease the burden of the medicine costs via the PharmEasy Application. We also learned that he had no phone, so we provided him with one with the help of one of our partners, who was kind enough to provide him access to the phone, and order medicines on his behalf.

With daily wage earnings of about Rs 200-250, even the savings of a few hundreds have been mighty helpful to him, taking away a few hours of extra labour work and more time to the body to heal.

Even a tiny initiative can change the world of one person. Babu Sir is hopeful that he will regain his health back to normal and we at PharmEasy make it easier for people like him by providing better healthcare savings and share their inspirational story with the help of PharmEasy Dharavi File  !

Healthcare Savings Changed Lives : Dharavi Files

How many people do we come across in everyday life, despite being burdened by troubles and old age- have a warm, greeting smile on the face, lighting up the eyes? Presenting to you is one such story of Ganesh Amma, who has spent most of her life in the by lanes of Dharavi and how healthcare savings changed lives. Our inspiring grit lady, Ganesh Amma, is 73 years old. A family of 4, Amma, her son and two children have had a tough life to live because of health and financial troubles. The son is the only earning member of the family and he suffers from Chronic Asthma. Ganesh Amma’s life is a story of courage. She is an inspiration for all and we firmly believe that everyone deserves to get the best. Hence, we at PharmEasy thought we could help her out as much as we can.   The monthly earnings of Amma’s son hardly touch INR 10,000 a month. The son suffers from an acute case of Asthma, which acquires a lot of medical expenses every month. Amma’s old age and deteriorating health adds to further medical costs for the family. With two young children, aged 9 and 13, school fees and expenses are a regular worry. The family’s medical expenditure alone runs up to INR 4000-5000 a month, leaving only about INR 5000 a month to run the household and pay for the school fees. The family used to get most of the medicines from the Municipality stores with no discounts. PharmEasy came to the rescue and provided respite for the family by reducing the bill on medicines. The family got a first-time discount of 25% for an order and a recurrent discount of 20% on every purchase. It is said that we are most authentic at our weakest moments. We learn many of life’s most profound lessons through the stories, struggle and triumphs of patients. The story of Ganesh Amma is an example of how small steps can make a huge difference to people and healthcare savings changed lives successfully. PharmEasy will continue to make such efforts to make life easier for those in need.Disclaimer:  The information provided here is for educational/awareness purposes only and is not intended to be a substitute for medical treatment by a healthcare professional and should not be relied upon to diagnose or treat any medical condition.
